Børge Mogensen
Børge Mogensen was a Danish designer, one of the greatest of the twentieth century. He was known for his quality furniture and strong, minimalist designs. His goal was to create items that serve people and give them the leading role, instead of forcing them to adapt to the items. He was first trained as a cabinetmaker, but then he went to the Danish School of Arts and Crafts. After he graduated he studied architecture at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Later he became the director of the Danish Co-Operative Society, FDB. For HAY, he recreated the timeless J41 en J42 chairs of Mogensen.
