The Crate Collection, originally designed by Dutch architect and designer Gerrit Rietveld in 1934, recently underwent a relaunch in collaboration with Rietveld Originals and HAY. The new version of the Crate Lounge Chair stays true to the original design with precisely balanced proportions and transparent construction to reduce production costs and optimize the assembly process. The chair features a low seating, a sloping backrest and supportive armrests, offering functionality and comfort without taking up much space. The Crate Lounge Chair is made of solid pine wood with a water-based lacquered finish in various colours. The chair is for outdoor use and can be complemented with optional seat cushions in different textiles for extra comfort.
Gerrit Rietveld
Gerrit Rietveld was a Dutch furniture designer and architect who is best known for his contributions to the De Stijl art movement.
