George Sowden
The English designer George Sowden studied Architecture at Gloucestershire College of Art. In 1970, he moved to Milano, where he opened his own design and development studio. In the 1980s he became one of the founders of the design collective, Memphis Group, and in 2010 he founded SOWDEN, his own-name brand. As a designer and developer he has won numerous design prizes, including the prestigious Compasso d'Oro Award. He is known for the pattern and decoration of his designs, which go back to the 1970s and continues today. For HAY, George Sowden designed a kitchen collection with signature colours.
